About the Clayton Pioneer
About the Pioneers – Clayton and Concord …
On May 9, 2003, we published our first issue of the Clayton Pioneer.
In the intervening years, we have expanded our reach to cover Concord news as well – starting with the publication of The Concordian in 2008 (which we sold to our partner in 2010) and continuing with the Concord Pioneer in 2014.
We’ve lived in either Clayton or Concord since 1955. Our six children all attended local schools. Here is where we hike the hills, drive the roads, shop in the stores, eat in the restaurants and go to church. And, here is where we work.
Our offices are located in The Village Oaks building at 6200 Center Street, Suite H, Clayton, CA 94517
The Clayton Pioneer is currently published monthly and delivered by mail to 5500 residents in Clayton. The Concord Pioneer, also published monthly, is delivered to 28,000 households in Concord. Total circulation of the two papers is 33,500
We cover the local news (most of it, anyway). We tell you what happened on the streets, in the schools, at City Hall and in local sports. We tell you about local weddings, about who got engaged and who celebrated an anniversary. We tell you who was born and who died.
We bring you features and columns on schools, hiking, nature, weather, gardening, technology, real estate, investing, health, movies, pets and relationships and stories of interesting people.
